Tom and Carolyn Morris, Anniston, AL

I am one of those "silent" GGRS members. I've been reading and studying garden railroads for two years and finally got off my rear and started my layout. The GGRS website has been both informative and motivating.

I had to take out a dozen trees and start leveling. Had to go up seven castle wall blocks on the low side and down seven on the high side. It will be a raised bed four flagstone blocks high plus cap blocks. The perimeter wall run is about 300 feet. It is "U" shaped with a patio in the middle and a three foot wide walking path around the entire perimeter. After I get the big "hole" filled in I'll make some measured drawings and send them out with photos to the GGRS members for a suggested track plan.

Here are a couple of photos of my progress so far. I should start filling the raised bed "hole" in about three weeks.
