GGRS Meeting

October 11, 2008, Club Meeting

Alan and Mayda Mole, Duluth, Georgia

We want to thank Alan and Mayda Mole for hosting the meeting for the second year in a row. Here are some photos by Donald Nute of the Mole Valley Railroad.

Nice depot. I think I heard Alan say he wanted to build a BIG one!?!

The roads are poured concrete. Alan said he got it too thin the first time and had to redo it.

A view of the freight yard.

Here is a view of the small village on and "island".

Two bridges lead acros a dry stream bed from the larger town to the village.

Another view of the village.

The end of the layout farthest from the village.

A freight runs in the pass behind the town.

A highlight of the Mole Valley Railroad is the set of bridges spanning the dry stream bed.

A passenger train crosses one of the bridges...

...and then goes over a trestle.
