Canton, St. Paul, and Pacific Railroad

Canton, Georgia

October 22, 2011

We want to thank he fine folks at the Canton, St. Paul, and Pacific Railroad hosting the GGRS for the third year in a row. The C, St. P, and P provided barbecue and the GGRS members provided the side dishes and deserts. About 20 GGRS members attended. The weather was fantastic and the rides through the woods were a great treat for our last meeting of the year. Photos by Don Nute.

All steamed up and ready for the mainline.

Hold her tight, Lowell!

A train heading out...

...and coming back in.

RJ and Ann watch as a locomotive takes on water.

Heading out onto the mainline.

Looks like they are taking the day off at the sawmill.

Looking ahead to the high bridge.

We take the siding as the downhill train passes us.

Duck!

The new pavillion on the upper loop.

Headed back downhill, we spot another train below us.

We pass the station at Elizabeth.

We spot a second small turntable midway down the hill.
