The Georgia Garden Railway Society again acted as host club for the Southeastern Garden Railroad Show. The club set up its layout on Thursday, April 29 and the banquet was held that evening at the Dalton Train Depot Restaurant. Dr. Joe Nichols, Sr., of the NMRA gave the banquet talk on "Early Railroad History of Georgia." Here are some photos taken at the show by Don Nute.

Alan Mole was Master of Ceremonies for the Banquet.

Dr. Joe Nichols, Sr., presented an interesting talk on the history
of railroads
in Georgia before the Civil War.

Angela Robinson, Dan Michels, Deb Michels, and Mayda Mole must find Dr. Nichols' remarks interesting. It's pretty sure they are listening to Dr. Nichols rather than Alan because Mayda seems genuinely interested.

GGRS members Dave Bennett is sitting beside Michael Niebaum, owner of Michael's Woodworking. Michael is a GGRS sponsor and once again donated a nice door prize for the banquet.

Linda and Lowell Dietz stopped for the show in their RV on the way to their summer home in Colorado.

The combined layout of the Emerald Coast and East Florida clubs was bigger and better than ever.

On Friday before the official opening, a local preschool turned the show into a field trip. They must buy engineer's caps by the case.

The GGRS layout looks different every time it is set up.

Dave's peanut farm has become a regular feature of the GGRS layout.
A new feature at the show was a display of some very looooooong trains.
Here's a little 0-4-0 live steamer on Joe Fotschky's show layout.

The goldfish transport cars built by Mark Fuhrman from Knoxville are always a hit.

The Mesa Grande Railroad returned for the 2010 edition of SEGRS.

Well-know scratch builder Yogi Wallace and his lovely bride Lois came from Ohio to man a continuous workshop on using common materials to scratch build structures for the garden railroad. Yogi and Lois were regulars at the Southeastern Large Scale Train Shows held in Perry, but we missed them at SEGRS last year. Welcome back!
